Our Story

Hi, we're The Hammetts.

We're the husband-and-wife team behind Timber & Twine—a small, family-run business built from our home, a whole lot of hard work, and a little bit of faith.

Justin is a Marine Corps combat veteran, husband, dad, and the kind of person who has never been afraid of hard work. Kyndra is a wife, mom, and corporate professional by day who had an idea that maybe—just maybe—we could build something of our own.

For years, we had a pretty simple dream: to buy a home for our family, create a little more financial freedom, and be able to take our daughter on a family vacation every now and then. Nothing extravagant. We just wanted the opportunity to make more memories together.

In 2025, Kyndra decided it was time to stop talking about starting a small business and give it a try. For her birthday, Justin surprised her with our very first laser engraving machine.

And just like that, Timber & Twine began.

We officially opened in July 2025 and spent the next year pouring ourselves into our little business. There were late nights, early mornings, plenty of mistakes, lots of learning, and more cups of coffee than we'd care to count. Slowly but surely, we built a brand, found some incredible customers, and began creating something we were truly proud of.

Then, in September 2026, everything changed.

An unexpected setback took away the storefront and following we had worked so hard to build, essentially leaving us to start over from the beginning.

So that's exactly what we did.

We regrouped. We worked harder. And we started rebuilding.

Our story doesn't have the picture-perfect ending just yet. We're still writing it.

Today, Timber & Twine is still run by the two of us while Kyndra continues her corporate career. We're raising our daughter, somehow keeping up with five dogs, filling orders, learning as we go, and continuing to work toward that dream of buying a home of our own.

Some days are harder than others. But our family knows a thing or two about perseverance, and we have faith that the best chapters of our story are still ahead.
